Lucy's TT is group 35 and that's too high for them as well.

They quoted me on the S4, which was group 20 in old money

I was quoted exactly that for our Volvo; the S8 was declined.
I think our current insurance would be measurably cheaper even though mileage is fairly low on both.

Just had to try this one. Not available in Northern Ireland, despite being underwritten by AXA, who just happen to be my current insurer.

They won't quote for either D3 and they seem to think the D2 is an import!

Interestingly their website won't recognise my Northern Ireland reg either. Never had a problem with it anywhere else ...

Sorry, this doesn't look like a reg number. Please double check and try again or get in touch with us.

I think they are still in the planning process, based on a review I read on their Facebook page. They are ruling out a lot of people based on postcode (BT) or a NI registration. Just as well all mine are GB regs , even though they think one is an import!

Just resurrecting this thread again with an update that might be of interest. My S8 insurance is coming up for renewal next month, so have been looking around. Decided to check up on 'By Miles' again to see if they have started operating in Northern Ireland (they haven't), and posed a couple of questions, and the information given also pertains to something Briang9 mentioned in another thread:

http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showpost....0&postcount=20

The main reason the D2 A8/S8 is rejected as being 'incompatible' is because of the location of the ODB port! Since it is somewhat lower down in the dash than say in the D3, their ODB adaptor might get knocked/damaged. What I was told is that if anyone with a D2 is still thinking of moving across to them, they can send out an extension lead with the adaptor.

I find it strange though that some people are being told their S8 is incompatible, yet others are being told they can't give a quote. If they come back to me, I'll push them to find out why the discrepancy, and also up to what insurance group they will quote for. It's all underwritten by AXA and they quite happily insure my S8.
