2002 S8 Final Edition - Non Runner

I've had a chat with the seller and I'm going to have a punt on this one. They took it in part ex, the boot is indeed full of oily bits and possibly (!) another wheel, and they just want rid of it. Its not driveable.

Ideal scenario is that it is repairable and I can keep an FE on the road. Worst case, the engine is even worse than my old one and its a basket case in which I'll probably have the only Dolphin Grey D2 with red leather. Middle-of-the-road scenario is I put a 650hp 2.7 biturbo and 6-speed in it and go a bit nuts

Let me know if/when you're coming to collect it, especially if towing with an '8, might meet up for a quick chat about F125's etc. and a coffee?

Also, if you want me to go and look what's in the boot I'm not far away (6 miles) and will be driving very close to it on Friday afternoon. And pretty close tomorrow - going to Amersham to pick up a DJ!

Has such a conversion been done before, a D2 with the 2.7 and manual box?

Ooh where did you find that? I wasn't aware anyone had tried it actually. Its a friend in the US who tunes them that's responsible for the idea. Tbh it was a future 'back of a fag packet' concept to put one in an FL 2.8QS since that would already have most of the supporting hardware already, but an S8 with a blown engine is an equally viable candidate. I just never expected to find *another* one!

There's much more space for an intercooler than with the RS6 lump, and the 2.7TT is a much stronger engine anyway.

Won't comment on condition publicly as the auction is still running, but it's VERY DEFINITELY a non-runner!
