So was this what we had in mind?
 I wanted to get it to suck up water from a bucket but realised it would never do that with a vent at the top so put the header tank on it and joined the inlet and outlet together. I'll fill it with water and see if I can see any evidence of it moving it around...

Rinsed it through a few times to get rid of the chunks, then started the cleaning process.
Before: After: D2 Doctor Approved This is cute: The engine was at 2°C last night when I stuck the tape over the ports. Its warm to the touch now after I've been filling it from the kettle, and the air trapped in the ports has warmed up so much it's making the tape bulge
