This is what Ray was referring to: https://www.visitblackpool.com/thing...illuminations/
Though the experience could probably be enhanced...……

Well done those men!!!
Blackpool Illuminations it is.

When my kids were young at illumination time I'd ask them if they wanted to see the lights. Off course they did so I would load them up in the car and drive up to Rivington Pike and say "There they are". OK, some 30 plus miles away, but they could see them.

The bar and entertainmednt at the hotel shuts down at 22:00 due to Covid which means that they start earlier. This means I can only reasonably do the lights at 22:00 but of course another problem arises, they are being switched off at 23:00 on Sunday. I will have an hour to do the full run. It will be the fastest lights tour ever, if the traffic lets me.

Car insurance due next month, day before Gwen's birthday, what a bummer.
These insurance companies have us over a barrel and currently the energy companies are joining inI finally went with Direct Line at over 1K then swapped to Hastings because last year at 1K5 they were the cheapest. Today I have just joined Tesco at just 1K and a bit.
So I've saved a whole 5K and I'm a year older.
Big thing is their on line procedure is bloody easy.
5th October planning on flying to Paris to see Gary at the Palais de Sports.
6th October train to Luneburg for a week or so, which will include daughter Christine taking me for a ride on the Brockenbahn.

Can't afford to take the car. Using an easyJet voucher from early covid days, train from Paris will be about £50.

Nice one Sarg.
I had given up earlier nothing flight wise fitted but I have found a RyanAir via Dublin that will do for a return.
So out on 5th, night in Paris, 6th train to Luneburg, fly back 12th from Hamburg.
But I would rather drive.

Indeed. My son's X5 parked in a quiet residential road in Hackney a few weeks ago.

A brand new Range Rover disappeared from just along the road a couple of days later.
