Very interesting considering that stock HID's use something like 1200 V for ignition and 85V when working but aftermarket unit's on ebay link use 23k V for ignition and 16-17k V when working. To be honest I am a bit surprised that it works OK with stock bulbs and they last reasonable amount of time.

Hi.

I will check my ballast that was taken out a H7 HID kit i was supposed to use for my C4 S6 so we can see the voltage and stuff But since they sell D2R/S bulbs in almost any HD KIT i would guess that the Ballast is the same.

Only difference from the oem setup is that it might use a second longer to heat up the bulb when starting. I have not noticed it but from having aftermarked HID in cars earlier this is usually normal.

I have had several of these and slim kit, I have used in my and others people cars with the H1/ H4 bulbs supplied in kit, they are 23k V start voltage and 16-17k running voltage.

OEM's are 1200V start and 85V running voltage, while you can get aftermarket kits with D2R/S bulbs I thought the bulbs would be different then OEM.
