Default Old round style D3 wheel on newer D3 “backdate”

Never really got on with my 05 D3 wheel. Did not like the front grille shaped centre and always thought that it clashed visually with the dials which are round of course. So I got myself an old round style wheel off an earlier cad. The buttons and trim were a bit of a mess so I stripped them down and painted them in a nice grey that I’m going to do my other trims in. I also treated myself to a pair of silver paddles and coded them to work using vcds.

I’m very surprised but going from the four spoke non paddle wheel to this has really enhanced the driving experience for me, great little upgrade.

PS sorry the image isn’t straight no idea why.

I find the touch interfaces are very underated, the right wheel and shifter make a big difference. I personally have a hatred of flat bottom wheels
