That's what mine has got fitted as well - not very impressed with it tbh, especially for ipod integration, which basically it doesn't!

Instructions are handy though as didn't come with mine

I was just going to use a card or usb stick as I dont have an ipod, and it sounds like you can then use it just as you would your cd only you have 99 tracks per cd, have you tried it with just a card or usb device?

I fitted similar one to friends 2003 A4. Works OK, he is using USB sticks. Some head units or maybe all can have 2 changers connected so You can keep existing one along with this USB thingy. You make 6 folders( or 10) on it and up to 99 songs in each. You control it like a CD changer, each folder acts like virtual CD.

I started buying SD cards to go in my RNS-E, which doesn't require the CD 1-6 folder setup anyway and has the same SD only (no SD-HC cards) limitation, but both require you to convert ipod happy tunes to MP3 format, so I've ended up creating 2 copies of any music I want to install that way.

Would be much easier if I could control the ipod directly via the RNS-E interface, but that would require a different dock interface as this one requires you to use the actual ipod to control it. It just emulates 'CD5' playing constantly so nothing happens if you try the RNS-E controls.

If this one still allowed the CD changer to stay connected, I'd be happy enough. There's only 1 changer control on the back of the RNS-E. On my A6 there's the double DIN Symphony head unit with built in CD changer, so wouldn't be surprised if that had another CD out option. I have a spare one in the loft so may have to dig it out to check. If it does I might pull this out of the S8 and get a proper ipod dock interface.

They all have only one connection but some allow daisy-chaining 2 CD changers. I do not remember exact details but when I put the one in for a friend it had instructions how You go about keeping CD changer. I remember when pressing Mode button it would circulate between Radio-CD(or cassette)-changer1-changer2. He did not have changer so not tested in real life.

If its anything like the Dension 100 & 300 (which I use) the manufacturer does an optional CD retention kit which I've used (wiring harness) but this will handle a hard disc also...
