Default Tow bar storage

I have just had a towbar fitted to the old girl and must say the detachable head is a thing of beauty, but storing it is less elegant. Does anyone know if there is an insert into the spare wheel to hold it?

I have seen something on an A4 and a BMW 3 series, is there such a thing for an 8? I can find nothing in ETKA, does anyone have any suggestions/part numbers..

Thanks

I thought there was a space in the tool kit insert?

Default I dont have one of those

Oops, yes, I shold have said it is a D3. Unfortuantely, I dont have an insert at all. I have found pictures of an A4 insert or a BMW one, but cant find any part numbers.
These are the ones I have found in picture, with the BMW one looking like the best fit

Default answer to my own question

Well, I may have found a BMW solution - it helps to find out that they call it a towing coupling, rather than a hitch, or towbar.
So searching RealOEM I came across the "Ball Oddments Box" for a 3 serries
Item 6 on the diagram
I would still rather an Audi solution, but I'll see what BMW will charge..

There is a wheel insert for the D3 that takes the towbar (Mine has one).

I've seen one fitted in the tool section under the boot carpet, but not sure if that's a different bit of material specific to the removable tow bar install or common to all. Don't have a pic, but as a worst case scenario a roll of good quality bubble wrap and pop it in the spare wheel centre will keep it out the way without it knocking about. Not elegant but probably eaiest option
