Default So I bought this cheap 2.8 quattro

£500, 102k miles, full Audi service history, mechanical sound, cosmetically not that great so needs a good detail, f/n/s wing dented and leather interior needs cleaning. Rear tyres are 2mm each, fronts are 4mm. One owner from new and a full MOT

Over the next few weeks I'll get this cleaned up so SWMBO can use it over winter.

5 speed manual, air-con, Audi concert with Bose speakers.

102k miles, a few pixels gone in the LCD.

Build up of mud and dirt...

The worst seat. Only dirty, hopefully will clean up well.

I've bought a new wing and will replace this dented wing.

Build up of leaves.

More leaves and c**p behind the bulkhead.

Drain holes blocked

After a quick scrub. I removed the lower door trims while washing as they were old & cracked.

You shouldn't post pictures like that - at least not without a health warning! Some of the OCD members on this forum wont recover for days! What's it been used for? A farmyard tractor?
There's more leaves in the scuttles and drain areas than Monty Don's compost heap.

However, underneath the superficial issues it is probably a bargain for £500. What size are those wheels?

Correct! The guy lives on a farm! His other car is a B7 S4, sadly also as dirty...

I've recently bought a set of winter tyres and alloys for my D3 which was a lot more than this A4! So I thought for £500 it's worth cleaning and using as a daily driver. The wheels are the original Ronals, they are 17" x 7.5" (not 100% sure of the width)

Whats the plan for the mobile pond, that bulkheads nuts, is the inside not soaking wet too?

The dent on the wing is repairable with paintless dent repair.

Potential there for a decent winter hack

Hi Del,

No, inside is dry. It started to fill up while I was washing her. I have cleaned out as much rubbish and unblocked the drain holes for now. When all that crap is dry I'll get a leaf blower and vacuum in there to get it all out.

Push the rubber bungs throw. Pain in the ass.
invest in a B5 facelift scuttle cover to stop leavs going there.

I got a spare air box cover for the engine bay if you want it.

For £500 that is a bargain.

Pictures of door sills and compost in plenum chamber
are a nomination for special award of this club!

But I'm sure it was a real bargain

I live on a farm and my D3 would end up like that pretty quickly if I left it. At least fortnightly at this time of year I need to remove the scuttle covers and remove leaves from the bulkhead area. Mud in winter is pretty normal, even cleaned weekly my wheel arches clog with mud in a few days, especially with all the rain we have had lately. Reason for that is that the access road to the house is a farm track which turns to a mud/stone mix with the slightest rain.

Looks like a pretty good car for £500.
