Default Squeaking

Have just noticed a squeaking noise under hard acceleration. Seems to happen at gear change only. Any ideas? And should i be worried?

Is the wife in the car at the time? Have you checked to make sure you're not making any involuntary noises?

Though, where does the noise sound like it's coming from? Could be the gearbox needing serviced.

is it more of a 'whoop' kind of noise? mine has done that once or twice, usually when dropping to second.

Perhaps it's excited!

Seriosuly thongh, needs looking at but could be something as simple as an air leak on the inlet/vacuum system. As the throttle opens quickly the rush of air can make a funny noise if it's leaking somewhere.

Should be simple enough to find. I'd be suprised if it was the gearbox - not impossible but if it was bad enough to make a nosie I'd expect some kind of driving symptoms too.

The Suction-Jet-Pump near the throttle body rubber boot is a common one for making dodgy noises.

It is a ventrui based devise that increases vacuum supplied to the braking system. If the car is equipped with an electric brake vacuum booster pump also then these can fail, putting toto much strain on the Suction Jet Pump and cause noise also.

I may be a mile off but without actually hearing it this is my best guess

On mine if definitely sounds like some kind of cavitation noise.. almost like blowing over a near empty bottle. I'll take a look at the throttle body if it ever stops raining
