Looks far too smooth and controlled to be luck - I've spun a couple of times, and they weren't half as measured as this! Looks more like a stunt (from someone with bags of self-confidence....)

I'm going for a bit of both. He kept his cool, was probably keeping it together, but they were lucky it played out just right for the truck to get past.
