Exclamation Private Plate A8 CKH ? Whats it worth?

Hi we've bought a car with this plate on, and we quite like the anonymity but just wondered if it would be a desirable plate to any Audi A8 Owners?

Not really sure what its worth, but it would have to be enough to tempt me to do all that paperwork! So if its worth something to you, then PM me and let me know!

Ta!

Not worth much at all, IMHO, unless you find someone with CKH initials. My car had S8 VWJ when I bought it and i gave it back to the DVLA as no-one was interested. But stick it on ebay - you never know

Yeah thought as much, would rather keep it, if its no good to anyone here, we're running a VW T4 on it and planning on getting A8 alloys for that so will have a better reason for it then, and I like keeping people guessing at how old she is!

to give you an idea , there are lots of V8 registrations available from the DVLA , and they don't seem to sell at about £300 including fees , the sites are reducing the prices on the ones they have bought for resale

now , if you had MY initials I might cross your palm with silver...not a lot though!

Bugger! I'd have had that for the cost of the transfer if I'd known you were considering disposal I remember being tempted when you advertised it but lack of funds were an issue.....

VWJ wouldn't have meant anything to me, but S8/A8 on the plate just takes the age off the car a bit and relates it to the model - for a plate like that I'd just leave it with the car if/when I sold.

Now if V8ALE ever came up for resale it'd be a different story! Bought my wife V8JLE about 10 years ago.....

My intials are CK...

But then I already have A8 UDH on my car! A nice plate to go with the car but when people murmur their surprise that the private plate came with the car, I remind that it would cost the seller £80 to transfer the plate off the car when they sold it, and it's of little value to someone who isn't an A8 owner. I've thought of keeping it for life, but in reality I'll pass it on with the car.

I bet you could get rid of it on ebay though.

Stick it on a 99p auction with the term specified in the advert that the buyer will pay:

1) The cost of the final bid in the auction
2) The cost of transferring the plate
3) The cost of getting a new plate made up for your car

So about £100, plus whatever the winning bid is.
