Part 2
You've seen some of the photos posted of us on the ring, but there was some relaxation. The evenings were spent sitting on Darren's balcony watching the sun set over the Adenau bridge.
And it was sunny Adenau bridge was the site for my minor issue. I was honking down the slight hill into the left hander, about where the yellow car is, As I accelerated out of the corner at the arrow The engine just died and all power was lost. I managed to roll to just past the gate here, and rolled backwards through it and ended up at the end of the out road to the left of the cafe. After the rest of the guys finished they came round to me and agreed the engine was fubared so all that was left was to push the car past the cafe crammed with hundreds of Bikers back to the hotel 150 yards away. Mildly embarrassing to say the least. The RAC say it may take up to 3 weeks to repatriate. Maybe it's time for a 40 valve....................................:Confused :

great pics again Mike
I have to say I hadnt realised it was 600 euros to get recovered from the ring - can you insure against it for a fee? Also hadnt realised that it takes that long to get your pride and joy back to the UK - how do they justify that amount of time and does it vary between different breakdown organisations?

There but for the grace of god go I Mike. At least you didn't window the block and lose fluids. As this is twice that those bolts have let go I have a nerdy question. On the bike I obsessively lockwired all and sundry. Is it possible to do this with an area of such high loads? Whatever S I end up with is going to end up in peices within a day or two of purchase so access would not be a problem.

I had thought about some form of locking device, but it's not possible. I will be using mega thread lock on the next engine.
