Sorry to hijack the thread, but is this still available? or has OP bought it?
Also to anyone else that can answer this, is this what is required in order to send a vga signal from a Raspberry Pi3 to the MMI 2G unit? ta

Yes the OP bought the TV Tuner but it did not resolve his problem, he had another fault that has now been sorted. I suggest that you PM him.
You are correct that this is what you need to make use of the AV inputs. BUT, if you did not have TV installed before it could be that it was never wired for this.
