Default Chrome/Aluminium exterior trim

I've read it somewhere but can't find it when I want it!

The lower strips of chrome/aluminium trim along the lower part of the doors, below the boot lid and below the headlights are in a poor state and detract from the otherwise decent condition of my S8.

I was going to get a set from A8 Parts and have them stripped and re-lacquered, but don't know how to get them off.

I'm sure someone has been here before, so if you can let me know.....

Mike's done his, I don't think the doors are too hard at least.

Have you tried some light metal polish? OK, it's not a permament fix, but cleans them up for a few months usually.

As PsYcHe suggests, try Autosol - lots of elbow grease, and then a protective wax such as Bilt Hamber Autobalm. It has corrosion inhibiters, and has kept mine good over the last 4 months.

front and rear bumper has to be removed, then on the inside of the trims there are scews going into white plastic clips be care full not to break or forget the order they go in, side mouldings have to be removed when looking at the back of the trim there some tubs which you turn then chrome comes away from the moulding hope this helps
