Leicester Audi dealer..great service and price..
its been a year of A8 ownership, i have put on 20K miles and done the oil/filters/plugs myself.
currently 162K mile she drives spot on and i have enjoyed every mile of driving her. i have booked her in for a gearbox oil change. i know, i know there are threads debating this issue. cost at dealer £95 . i asked about the belt/waterpump/tensioner cost.. £599. very reasonable for a big job. so i will start with the gearbox oil change and if the car still works after a month will get the belt changed. raj |

Good price!
If timing belt has never been changed before, or was changed a long time ago (8 years?), ask them to change all timing belt rollers. And thermostat. They are 'only' around £100 each, but critical. On my previous car dealer did not change rollers. I went a bit overboard and asked for eccentric idler to be changed too, they don't do that either. I think it has a rubber part, so if its 10+ years old could be worth changing. |

yep..8 year since last cam belt service.
so thanks for the heads up re. thermostat and rollers. will make sure that there is no gearbox trouble after the oil change first and then book in for cam belt.. |
