Driver's side back together:

Passenger side next

This is harder since more things are in the way. Brake pipes, crank breather, coolant hoses, etc

Came off in the end. Similarly clean inside.

Clean out the nooks and crannies

Going back together

Airbox back in

Fuel hoses

Ignition stuff, air intake, trim panel

All done

Excellent descriptions as always MJ

I had the tie rod seized as well, and now I can't remember if I greased up the rack or not.
The clip on the boot was not so hard on the right side of the car, but the left side was horrible (on my car). I had to use a plastic zip tie.

A big thank you, for the starter junction box photo!
I wasn't quite sure where that was. But seeing it, I recognise it. Mine is completely broken, with the lid missing. Great to see how it should be

Mike came over today and we did the gearbox output seals since they had leaked all the diff oil away all over the cats. Unfortunately I forgot to take any pics, but I'm sure I've shown that process before This one is now complete and ready to go to its new home, and thanks to Mike I get to finish early today!

That somebody is me! I had an itch I had to scratch. With 4 D2s already owned or did own I decided to step up to the plate and take on a 2.8.

With the T8 gone to the 8 dismantellers in the sky I needed another run around. If this hadn't been prepped by MJ I wouldn't have considered it. But with this one's provenance it was a no brainer.

The insures actually gave me money back when I swapped them over! But road tax! It's an 03 plate...... Hey ho, so be it.

Very pleased with it. Got 34mpg on the way home. Nice.....

I can certainly be persuaded...I'm even back in a VAG product, though not an 8.

I managed to get a good (read cheap) 24mth lease on a Skoda Superb. Though should the weather prove to be cooperative I'll ride down on my big Beemer.
