oh, just clicked you're talking D3..... not sure why I was asleep...
The D3 swan neck is very specific - Its the only westfalia I've ever seen that has an ally neck, not steel. Very distinct.... See here:

Some other Audi's seem to be ally as well, specifically my old Allroad which was written off without this in the boot

If no joy, or you want to check for any compatible models, try Westfalia UK in Bristol. I found them very helpful when I was enquiring about D2 towbars recently.
If it's not OEM only supply they should be able to supply a new ball. Audi don't list it as a separate part...... A
