Default Installation program doesn't seem to work with vista...

Looks like I need to dust off the old XP laptop to use this one

You tried running it with Admin rights?

I have to do that with the PhatNoise software (amongst other things).

Default Any help is welcome!

I am assuming that the current firmware, which is in the device's memory, is also located on the nav disc.

I then assume that it is this file that is opened with the Kolumbia program.

Presumably once loaded the program opens the rest of its features so that you can add a different splash screen and then save the file.

I'm then assuming that this file then has to be burnt to a CD so that it can then be loaded into the satnav unit's memory.

Did I get any of it right...?

Maybe..?

It told me to insert a CD, I thought it was just going to be through a VAG COM cable..

The firmware definitely has to be updated from a CD - I did this with the S4 satnav (RNS-D too), but that was to update new features which weren't in the original firmware.

RNS-D firmware is a seperate CD (had a look but couldn't find a download). It's only the DVD-based nav units which have the firmware on the disc.
