Default Has anyone had their 4.2tdi D3 remapped?

Has anyone had their 4.2tdi D3 remapped?

I took mine in last Saturday to BTG Performance in Newcastle as they had a groupon for £199 for a remap. I thought great, took it in 12.30 and came back at 2.30pm the guy said shouldn't be too long 10 minutes later he tells me its already been remapped in the past and boost is already to where they would expect a map to be, so I ended up getting a refund even after persisiting they mapped it, they said they would t want me to be disapointed as they thought it would be arpund the same performance.

I dont know if they were just trying to get out of it due to having 2 ecus. The performance as it is seems right for what would be stock 0-60 in 5.9s so I'm doubting its been remapped tbh. I've had the D3 3.0tdi pre and post map so can compare them, do you think they may be trying to pull the wool over my eyes? I could get it dyno'd there which I'm considering, any experience would be helpful?

If you have VCDS, it tells you when the ECU was last flashed and how many times in total.

But surely the VCDS flash could also just be telling you that the ecu has had an update flash rather than a remap? I had my leon cdtdi mapped and I was talking to the boy about it whilst he flashed it as he writes the maps himself, he told me that with diesels he barely touches boost if at all, he changes injection angle etc but could be different from this engine i dunno 🤷🏻*♂️

Engine>>>Advanced ID

Of course what Duff says is true and so you need to think has a 10 year old car had a factory update recently (unlikely when out of warranty) . Does it say it was never reflashed in which case it is probably not remapped or possibly the mapper was clever enough to hide the fact. Check both ECUs and paste the text here if you like.
Something like...

Cheers man, I'll check it out when I'm back from holiday, It feels how I would expect stock to be, I'll check the last flash and maybe do some logging, BTG really messed me about that day wasted a good 3hrs before they said they could t do it

The 4.2 Tdi is twin turbo, and loves a remap.

Post remap it should be chewing at the rear tyres to break loose coming out of junctions.

if it doesn't, its possibly not mapped, or not mapped well.

The twin ECU takes more effort, and maybe they can't do it, or just didn't want to do it at the reduced group on price. I dont know BTG so these are just my own musings.

Yeah I think your right either not mapped or poorly mapped, I'll get to the bottom of it and report back on here, I'm just going off my previous experience with a 2006 D3 3.0tdi pre and post map, my gut feeling is they realised they had to faff on with 2 ecus and told me anything, the performance is definitely stock to what would be manufacturers spec 0-60, I would have thought remapped would be low 5s 0-60, I want that chewing tyres feeling at the rears

I've took some MAF and torque logs via VCDS can anyone take a look and work out if it's been remapped?
Would really appreciate any help

peak torque logged from VDS was 799.9nm I know this is what the engine thinks is outputting but it appears to be high so I'm thinking it might be remapped what do you reckon?
