Default HELP.wipers have packed up

hi the audi has had a interment problem with the wipers when on for a period of time they would stop but when you pull the wiper stock to the stop position and then restart them they worked again.
But yesterday they have stopped working all together check fuse all ok is they any way of checking the motor or is there a relay its a 2004 audi a8

Here's something to try. Go into the MMI and check under 'car setting'. See if there is an error message along the lines of 'reset windshield wipers maintenance'. If there is, clear it and see what happens.

The ECU and relays that control the wipers is part of the motor assembly.

I had to replace the whole thing on my 2004 a couple of years ago, its a right faff getting the assembly out and the new one installed. It looks easy, as the assembly is only held in place by a couple of bolts, but you soon find the bonnet, strut brace, brake servo are all in the way. I managed to do it, but you need to remove quiet a lot of parts to get it where you can wiggle the assembly out.
