Objects in mirror are closer than they appear
A message found on convex mirrors for our North American friends......
 Is there any reason why these mirrors should not be used (legally) in the UK? It's just that, after many years of hunting, I think I've found a dimming drivers side mirror at a fair price, but with that (********) inscription.

Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course.  (internal dimming mirror added later)1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

I've seen that on other cars in the UK, so I'd assume that they're OK

It's a USA requirement but no issue with having it in use in UK. Jeeps etc have come with it to the uk market
Just be sure it has the correct curvature for use in the uk - it's likely to be wrong if it's intended for left hand drive

Same tint and curvature and the part numbers and other labelling on that and the one I'm buying correspond nicely. So it's worth a punt as it's a good price - I think they've not realised it's a dimming version. If it's wrong I'm sure I can sell it to someone with a D2 LHD...

They should be different but couple of thousand miles from car at the moment!
The spec list usually decodes accurately to detail which is which

I've had so many different cars over the years with so many different curvature patterns of mirrors that I'll live with anything.
The "blind spot" design with a more curved outer section I actually prefer to NOT have. My current S8 mirrors are definitely a uniform convex curvature and both are the same. The new Volvo has the "blind spot" section on the drivers mirror, despite also having a blind-spot system (warning lights) on both sides.

Seller sent the wrong item.
 Now that may be deliberate or just accidental/stupidity...... Ordered: 8D0 857 536 Arrived: 4F0 857 536 which is an A6 (C6) mirror, smaller and different shape. As it was left on my doorstep by yodel (even though I was in) the best option may be to claim (correctly) that my order never arrived......
