Default 2014 A6 allroad 3.0 TDI or Range Rover supercharded

My sis is looking to get a new car and get rid of her A6 . it has the 3.0TID unit in it . Was wondering what they are like to live with have driven it and its a nice drive...I have an 2003 A8 D3 4.2 so was thinking how it would compare to that .

I was also looking at an Range Rover Supercharged around 2005
as a replacement for the A8 ....
...I need something big and easy for my mum to get in and out of ...
..so any options on

1 the all road A6 3.0 2014
or
2 The Range Supercharged 4.2 v8

Also has anyone had the 3.0 tdi remapped and the outcome.

would be very welcome.

Many thanks all

The 3.0TDI is a decent unit.. and remapped, it's not too much slower than the 4.2 petrol really. The 2014 A6 will probably have the 3G+ MMI system (or maybe just a 3G) which is loads better than the 2G in your D3.

Fuel economy will be awesome comapred to the D3 and the RR, but it won't be as much fun. Can't remember if the allroad runs on air suspension, but if not, then it'll feel a lot more nimble than the D3 too.

Yep think the remapping is a must i think and the MPGwill be way up so tthat will be nice. Yes it's on air and I'm sure it has 3g. I have driven it over X mas as was a very nice drive and its black with black leather so a nice mix. My Sis is getting a Q7

Ha ha, did he honestly buy a Rangie for fuel eco? if so he deffo bought the wrong car, he needs one of those 3 cylinder putt putt thingys. Range Rovers have always been rubbish on fuel thats their thing, and obviously going wrong. but great things.

I had an allroad for a couple of months as a loan car, it was really nice and I'd seriously consider taking one in lieu of an A8 at some point.

Not sure how much was standard spec, but laminated glass all round, leather/alcantara interior and a few toys meant it was a nice place to be

It was this one http://www.sytner.co.uk/car-search/5...-5dr-s-tronic/

The 3.0tdi had plenty of go and wasn't was fairly light on fuel - but my comparators are all V8s!

That's good to know I have just picked up my Sis one as she has just picked up a new Q7 it's a monster of a car with all the kit

The A6 Was a very nice drive and lots of toys to late to play so will have a go tomorrow and over the weekend the 3.0 as a good amount of go. Not sure what the BHP rating is is there an easy way to tel it just says 3.0 tdi v6. I know there where 3 version

Check the build sticker, should confirm power or at least engine code.

Check here for detail - http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=37

218, 245 or 272 PS versions of the 3.0 TDI, which equates to 160, 180 or 200 KW I think?
