Default Confirm my theory. Door wont open.

Went to get out the S8 yesterday and the interior handle pulled but had no feel to it. Had to wind down the window and reach the exterior handle.

Took the door card off and the door wire doesnt seem to draw back in. You can pull the wire and it will just keep coming out of the sheath, feels like its not connected at the latch end.

Am i right in thinking that shouldnt happen? New door wire time?

Probably something very simple, take the door card off (long time since I did that) and have a look, IIRC they're a bit like old-school bike brakes so probably just popped out of the slot at one end.
Warning! When you take the door card off you WILL break some of the fixing clips. Our sponsors supply them at a decent price.

Had the same thing happen a few times on a previous D2 A8 I owned. The rod can pop out of the mechanism at the lock end, if I remember correctly. Should be obvious once you get the door apart. Getting the damn thing back in (and getting it to stay in) is the tricky part.

Same thing happend to me when the Mrs pulled the handle from the outside one frosty morning when the door was frozen shut.. After a few choice words directed at the Mrs, pulled the door card off and the rod had just came out from the mechanism, easy fix and had no problems since.. And now on a frosty morning I open the door from the inside and push

Global opening of windows? Tricky if they are frozen shut though.....
