well i've had the s8 for 6 years and the engine needs replacing..

so i'm planning on tearing it apart over 4 months. and here are my thoughts in pics. many are just to get ideas about how other manufacturers are designing performance cars.

first pic, well it just wouldn't fit.

as i always liked naturally aspirated engines, my 2 favorites for torque are the ls7 chevrolet and the 6.2 amg. adapter plate for chevy to audi 01e gearbox is availible, but really like to keep it all audi.

both have been advanced recently to ls9 and sls amg.

will post more of the audi engine alternatives and forced induction pics later.

john

another twin turbo 4.2 coversion, this usa heffner performance r8 uses iron sleeves from lasleeve.com in the cylinder bore to
escape problems with the alusil under high boost.also has reduced compression of 9-1 down from 12-1.

would look great in java green with alabaster leather or chesnut brown or my favorite kestrel tan an aston color but not with the bright green.

better yet i would love to re-design the interior like the mclaren f1, center drive steering with 3 seats, a masterpiece of engineering. i've seriously spent alot of time looking into this.
sorry my mind just goes sometimes. must be the german in my blood.

the latest supercharger designs next.

just had to post this, even though its a merc, the end is the best.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joC5MvzO1_w

got to love that engine. i had a brand new c63 for 2 months.

it also got this award, http://www.ukipme.com/engineoftheyea.../bestperf.html

if only audi would increase displacement with a new 6.0 v8 and quattro and

manual gearbox and the torque vectoring diff, perfect car.

rs6's have the torque (i had a one for 3 months), but no manual option.

if fact, when you think about it the only v8's with over 450hp

that have a manual are mustang, corvette and challenger, and that's because of the tremec tr6060,

the only 6 speed box capable of that much torque. also in the viper.

the americans again, mike

john

here is another turbo engine possibility for the s8, i was thinking a long time about this and found someone already did it. pf a8 d2 with 1200hp from norway 2.2 20 valve 5 cylinder.

or new engine from ttrs can reach 500hp easy with a tune, on ebay for £8000

also like this vr6 turbo engine longways in a a4, 1000hp, and the mounting brackets and adapter plate are being sold in a kit.
