AMI wont work..help please
ok,got an S8 D3 with 2 cd players
bought an AMI device , unplugged 1 cd player and plugged in the AMI wont show on the screen , tried it in my mates A8 already with AMI so just swapped it over and it works perfect in his car , any ideas please ?

Depends what version you're on now but sure the D3 owners will be able to advise - they can be downloaded from torrent sites or I'm sure someone can loan you a set.
Hopefully someone who knows can confirm if a firmware update is needed for your year of car to recognise AMI

its the SW one for the firmware so you have 2830, you will need to do the firmware
Update CD set p/n 4L0 998 961 costs about a fiver from audi dealers you can download it and burn them here http://www.audi-resource.com/mmifwver.php (you need to do the free sign up) but you are better off with the real thing

Good resource that - just signed up
 Dealer price for that part number is about £6.50 now - although Etka doesn't make it easy to find it! Calls it a repair set or something.

If you do burn them yourself, try and persuade the burning software to do it at 4x maximum, my CD changer didn't like CDs burnt at a fast speed, same with the Nav disks.
