I'd buy one in the next 4-6 months but I couldn't take the depreciation. I need one for Aug '14, so they should have lost a nice £30k by then (I hope). I'm looking forward to it. Will probably go for a 997 Turbo in the meantime. They hold their value really well.

Ive been told the new s8 can be re mapped to nearly 600bhp ..any more and it will need larger turbos...witch may be a faf due to it having a small charge cooler mounted on top on the engine rather tham some large intercoolers ....effectivly this is an RS8 really ...first turbocharged v8 in the a8 range and its the same engine in the new rs6 now instead of the v10... Its an amazing car and the active nois cancilation is great its quiet as a whisper when driving along ..thats on the wish list for sure !
Fantastic car and so glad we finally have a turbocharged v8 in the s8 its been long over due imo .. Im sure if you change the turbos and intercooler you could more than likely see close to 700bhp i would think ...if you can do simmilar to an rs6 and get 730bhp with an mtm pack then i would say the s8 has massive potential to be a super car smoaking saloon to make jawes drop of owners of porsch ect .. Oh amar you know your porsches ....what engine is in a carrera 4s ? Is it a flat 6 turbo ? ...

What Reffro said. The 997 non S models are around 350 and S models about 380 iirc. I think the 991's are 400. Quite good for a N/A 6 cylinder.
Not much will touch a 997 Turbo S, tested at 0-60 in 2.6 seconds and 1/4 mile in 10.4. That's standard, unmodifed. An 840 BHP RS6 won't even touch that. But I too am really pleased the S8 has a turbo engine, and an S Tronic box, the C7 RS6 only has a Tiptronic.

I only asked because i had a play with one on the motor way and it looked really aggressive looked nice but we stayed with eachother no problem i think he was quite surprised that a 4 door saloon kept with him ...911 turbo would be no chance though lol i didnt know what engine was in it thats why i asked ...i didnt think it was a turbo because a turbo would have just eaten me alive i think ...

You kept up with a C4S in the D4, or your W12? Got both cars on the drive, C4S is a lot quicker. I think the Turbo is a 3.6 twin turbo. When're you picking up the D4 S8? I'll drive up and meet you.
