D3 S8 No B+O
A few S8's around my budget, but with no B+O.
Having just sold an S6 V10, I fancied an S8, provided it had all the bells and whistles. Would I be selling myself short in a Bose car? Worried it will be to similar to the S6. |

There's a 2008 with b&o at my local Honda dealer, of all places. Seems expensive for miles (85k) at just under £20k but I don't really follow d3 prices
Has some nasty looking tinted rear lights and I'm not convinced the tinted rear windows are factory. If the condition and history stacked up it might be worth a cheeky offer? Interior looks decent condition Advert is on auto trader http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...01507165237110

S8 and S6 will feel like very different cars.
B&O is loads better than Bose, but A8 Bose is loads better than most car audio.

I'm hoping the S8 would be a bit more of an event than the S6 was, loved the noise and the engine, but, it was just an old A6 with a massive lump.
Hence the B+O thing, I love my music, and would love all boxes ticked if I get one of these. If not, it's a FFRR Supercharged or a CLS 55. |

I test drove an S6 a while before I got my S8, it made a nice noise but the two cars are worlds apart, I'm so glad I resisted the S6 and waited for the S8
B&O is worth waiting for, I didn't understand the appeal until I heard it for myself, it's probably the one thing I wouldn't be without now. I had Bose in my D2 and always thought it was good, but B&O just blows it away Good luck with your search

9 years later I can think about buying one. All I remember of all A8s is the silence, and comfort. We have a Q7 S-Line now, and it's just not for me, crash about, heavy and slow...need something special. |

Its worth holding out for B&O if you enjoy your tunez.
S6 and S8 are very different cars. S6 handles better as its on 'proper' suspension. Imo the air ride on the D3 nulls it a bit. Performance wise there is nothing in it. S8 sounds better as it has flaps in the exhaust that open at higher revs - S6 is fixed. But, the extended leather and larger more exclusive cabin make the S8 a far nicer place to be that the S6 even with Bose... B&O is good for resale value too...

I listened to both as I like a bit of music in the jalopy, the B and O is head and shoulders above the Bose in the D3 (Having done back to backs within several days of each other), it's worth getting definitely.
Just watching the tweeters pop up is worth the money alone!

I would go for a CLS55 AMG over an S8 for more fun anyday.
Had the S8 V10 and it's fun but lacks torque. The CLS55 has an easy 550bhp with light tuning and over 600bhp with some nice modifications. |

It's all in the eye of the beholder, but for me that Merc, is not easy on the eye. And then there's the interior. Oh dear!
If its fun your after, then something smaller, much, much smaller than either the 8 or Merc surely
