Default Major dilemma - S8 V10 or W12...

I still can't decide.

Been offered a gorgeous W12 for a very good price. It has everything on it, only thing is the interior and the dash are a dark blue, and i've had that before. Swapping out the dash is a major headache.....

I've also found a stunning S8, with B&O which the W12 doesn't have but it is another £5-6k more.

I can't decide whether to save the money and get the W12, or the S8 which I prefer looks wise. But it's alot more money!

Thanks to Darren for the call the other day The W12 ultimately is the quicker car. The V10 noise is very addictive though.

Arrrrrrgh!

Personal choice? I'd go with the V10. Having driven both, the S8 feels more "planted", power level is similar to the 6,0 W12, but it feels more urgent.

The W12 I drove was a LWB, but from all I've heard, the SWB ride is similar, softer than the S8's.

First off chaps - No Lambo Power comments!! It is not the Lambo V10! Shares something like less than 20% of its parts with that! It's an engine designed specifically for the Audi range, much wider torque spread and ultimately, lower power and revs.
That doesn;t mean it's not a wonderful engine, it is, but it's not a Lambo. Seems crazy that Audi deemed fit to build several engine so similar and so low volume in production!

ANywho...... My advise would be drive both and choose your favourite. I've been lucky enough to drive a few of both (most recent Darrens' lovely W12 and Nick's stunning S8) and both are fabulous - very different cars though. Character, interior and driving experience are quite amazingly different. I doubt you'd be dissapinted with the performance of either car so just have a go and pick your favourite.

I'd love either! In terms of reliablity I couldn't seperate them - both cars are actually very good and few engine issues to report so happy buying!!

Loved the W12.. but unless you're talking to a petrolhead, you'd always need to explain what a 'W' engine was over a V

Cheers all!

I'm still in a dilemna. I feel the S8 is newer and I get some nice toys (B&O). But the W12 is just a fantastic car and i've got £6k in my pocket.....

I've had 3 A8's D3 models now and each one has had a lot of spec on. So I need something I think to keep that entertained.

Decisions decisions!
