Both mine have taken ages to not steam in the cold.. have had some occasions where I've had a huge cloud after booting it It's normal.

Luxury cars seem to steam so well, the steam sort of just falls out the exhaust and swerls around where normal cars seem to be more of a putt, putt, spitting it out.

Perfectly normal to have steam from the tail pipe on a very cold morning. As correctly stated above! Keep an eye on coolant level but really nothing to worry about. Head gasket failures are possible but rare on A/S8's.

Thanks everyone, following on from this. I checked the oil level and coolant level today and all is good, nothing has changed from last week. There is no sign of oil in the coolant, or for that matter coolant in the oil.
