Thanks

Aside from the looks, I am really looking forward to being able to clean them easily.

Those ten spoke things are a total nightmare to clean.

I've just bought a set of these from the Fatherland.

Wanted to stick with OEM!

The day finally arrived and it's in for the Audi electronic towbar (which swivels out of sight) and for the wheels to be changed. They gave me an A7 to drive, so happy with that!!

I did ask them to see if they can do anything about the fact that I have to press four buttons before I set off.

Start engine, turn of auto stop/start, lower MMI screen and turn radio off which always comes on.

Into drive and then I'm away.

Not holding out much hope but it seems odd that we can't set the auto stop start default to off. Or as BMW in America have done, change the programming to remember the drivers last choice.

The wheels fit and look spectacular (according to the call I just got)

New cooling fans are in and the tow bar is underway.

On the subject of wheels. I have an A7 loan car with large wheels and skinny tyres.

I understand what people say about the air suspension but there is a real difference in the harshness of any road bumps, between my A8 and the A7.

The ride on a straight flat road isn't much different though. More noticable road noise in A7 but that could be a couple of things.

In preferrence of overall comfort the 18" is superior. (for me)

Pics of new wheels not far away now!!

Looking forward to the pictures ..

The A7 rides different to the 8 imho having tried the two. That said the 7 is a nice motor, just not an 8 There's much more sense of occasion with an A8.
I do get road/tyre noise from the 20's I might try a different tyre when they decide to break the bank and see if things improve. On some surfaces it's silent others noisy so defo the tyres.

Cant say the ride is harsh with the larger wheels and I leave the suspension in the dynamic/sport setting as I prefer it. I do like the fact they are dead easy to keep clean though, as they are so big I can get my hand in there and keep them looking like new inside and out sad muppet that I am
cheers Glyn
