There is also a 4 spoke heated non-tiptronic wheel, so it could still be heated.

The suspension screen would quite clearly say 'sport' at the top if it were the sport suspension. The non-sport suspension is very comfortable, but considerably more wallowy.

I just had a sinister thought. I've never seen a steering wheel / drivers seat bolster look quite that worn on an A8 before. I wonder with the gap in history if there's any chance its been clocked.... Admittedly you'd normally clock things down quite a bit lower, but worth bearing in mind.

You can call the Audi Spec Check service and they will give you the factory sales order of spec and any history on Audis records. Very worth while doing.
I didnt notice any wear on the bolster, even from the pics, dont see it.

I checked the MOT records, all look legit, it was on 120K until about a year or two ago where someone did around 35K miles in a year. I dont think its clocked but of course will never know for sure.

For what its worth, I dont think it had heated steering. From what I understand, this is normally activated when you switch on the heated seats which I did. Some models seem to have an additional switch, not sure.

There is a switch on the steering wheel itself, the lower left hand spoke, kind of behind. You could happily miss it completely unless you went searching.

Audi spec check will tell.

Encouraging that the MOT's check out....

Offer him 7 and see how much he squirms. I'm not saying it isn't worth 8. It probably is. But he's got a very narrow target audience for that car....

Thanks. The road tax is also £490. When I asked him when I was on site he indicated it was the £250ish category. I might push him on that too.

Do you have contact details for the Audi Spec Check system / place?

I can see there is an online option, a bit like the BMW VIN checker but I dont have the details for that.

Thanks. Cant see it in the pics. I felt around too trying to feel if there were paddles or holes for them, I think I would have felt it. Pity, but that said, not the worst option not too have.

They recently set up a new, free number which I've misplaced. If you just google for the generic Audi customer service number and ring them, they'll point you in the right direction. It is specifically called the 'Audi Spec Check Service' and they're generally very friendly and helpful, which is impressive as it reading out specs and service history all day must be one of the dullest jobs going lol

Thanks. I actually saw the option list numbers and thought to photograph them but didnt. I just had a call from the dealer asking if I was going to come in tomorrow to collect. Indicated that the service history and road tax didnt help. He dropped the price to £7600.
