I really liked the Agate Grey of my first S8, not sure how Dolphin Grey compares, anyone know?

As for late non-FE high-spec models, mine is also one of those and has heated rear seats but NOT (sadly ) a heated windscreen (or nice-to-have passenger seat memory).

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.).
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

A shade or two darker but otherwise quite similar in tone.

My Dolphin Grey is a late non-FE, but had almost no options other than the dealer-fit playstation stuff which didn't work anyway. Its getting a few options retrofitted this year though

It’s so hit and miss with spec on these. My 2.8 run out model was a very late registered 2002 car and had a better spec than my two S8’s that followed it.....TPMS, Servotronic (although I didn’t believe it), FE wheels as standard, glass sunroof, rear heated seats and a ski hatch.

I’ve never owned an S8 with a rear blind and I really want one.....just because

I think I will get that retrofitted to the both of them at some point.

I have no plans to sell this one or the Green one at the moment. Dolph is far from perfect and I will need to spend some time and money on it, but as I explained to MJ I’d rather spend on one of these than a new car on finance and preserve these classics as we will never see anything like the D2’s built again unfortunately.

I’m making a list of all the things I want added now

Sadly not I'm hoping David's enquiry with Pilkington Classic comes to fruition, but even if it does its not going to be a cheap retrofit. People are going to have to be really very committed to quickly defrosting the windscreen on the few frosty days where it's necessary.

Haha Congratulations on becoming a 2 x D2 S8'er.
My 2002 D2 S8 had same spec as your Dolphin, but for the sunroof being of the non solar type. And its heated front screen was a joy on those few frosty mornings.

Let her drive one of them, then she'll soon warm to the idea of owning a few more.

And now that you'll have 'his and hers' S8s, you can refer to them as "Our 2 D2s" .... See what I did there!?

But make sure you decide whose is whose, or you might start car wars.

Ok, I'll quit before the puns get any worse ...

Brilliant

I love a good dad joke or 2

Mrs D has already claimed the Green Beast so that gives me free reign to go wild with Dolph!

If I could get my hands on a Murple S8 I think I’d only need a red and a black and then I’d be content
