Default Special OCD award?

Well, I have owned my current '8 for just over 3 years now and, as some of you know, I'm rather fond of the old gal.

One of my (many) OCD habits is to log every tank-full of petrol, the mileage and the MPG from the pump volume and odometer (more accurate than the DIS figure). It's also a helpful early warning of minor problems (as you can see from the attached log). The log covers 3 years and 65K miles.

Does this get today's OCD award?

Nice work Jim.
I also do the same with our cars. In our spreadsheet there's a column to calculate the average over 10 recent fill ups. I find this useful as we can't always fill up when empty and thus removes the extreme MPG readings when calculating MPG per fill up.

I'm not sure I understand that.

It shouldn't matter if you fill up when empty or not. The MPG is simply the number of miles covered on the trip odometer divided by the amount of fuel used to fill up. You don't have to wait until the tank is empty, but you do have to fill it up each time and remember to reset the trip to zero.

I generally fill up to about 1/2 or 3/4 tank, rarely do I have a full tank unless I know it's a long journey. Therefore for me I can't work out how many litres I've used.

Do you fill up to full?

Oh dear, I thought I was bad, though there's nothing wrong with a bit of order and repetition in life Jim, whatever makes you happy
