Also respect to Limoncello - turned up today and reset the service indicator plus carried out a scan.
 Not to bad (a few knowns such as the alarm not being right and one of the rear Potentiometer for the vent - which I had disconnected) no serious ones but will require a check when I come back.

GSF wouldn't replace just the wrong parts so had to take the new shoes out of the calipers.
Swapped and put them all in this morning. Ready for the trip this weekend to the Alps

Trouble at'Mill
 Can notice a vibration above 45 but calms a little at 80. Braking at speed induces a serious judder. Steering wheel does not seem to suffer though, just feeling these through the car. Thinks the disks might be warped and down at Dover now so will just have to suffer until I get back next week.

Unless you've thrown a weight off a rear wheel. Had a similar thing before (funilly enough on a trip to France), quick balance and away we went.

Wheel balance would be number 1 for me - Always seemed more pronounced under braking on the D2 for some reason.
Warped discs is less likely unless you've been nailing it particularly hard just recently....

I'll second that.
One of my winter wheels was a bit imbalanced and on the rear (left) due to minor damage. The vibration peaked at about 65-70 and was very noticeable when braking - not a common long-term speed for an S8 fortunately.  Back on my summers and it's all smooth as silk now. (tyres will be moved round before next winter so that the imperfect wheel is the spare, assuming it's serviceable which it appears to be)

Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.). 2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!  Finally: gone, but not forgotten..... 1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
