I've only done around 100 miles or so, but they are much, much quieter than the previous tyres and, coming in to work this morning, along rivers that used to be roads (we had of a lot of rain last night), they seemed much more sure-footed in the wet.

Not quite as quiet as David's S8 with the 18" wheels, but pretty close.
Always thought it was prononced "stein" like Rick or Franken, maybe it's because it's Indian owned now and no longer Dutch

Pilot Sport A/S Plus, in 275/30 20's on 20x10 rims.
Great tire, quiet, tracks straight, good wear.
Had them on my 2004 A8L, but they fit the 2001 S8 too.

Ride was pretty good too, not as soft as 18's, but not too harsh.

Now I'm running Conti DW's in 255 30 20's on 20x8.5 rims, and have to say this is the best tire I've run yet.
Amazing grip, totally quiet, and the ride is not harsh at all, better than the Pilot Sport A/S tires if you can belive it. (My 79 year old mother was in my car a few weeks ago, and commented to me that this car rides better than your dad's S500... Much to the chagrin of my dad of course! He's got 16" wheels and big old 65 aspect side walls! LOL)

Took part in a Car Show today ... http://www.classiccarandbikeshow.co.za/ and bumped into a stand selling the Vred-es-teen Tyres recently
intoduced into South Africa.

@ The_Laird .... are you still happy with them and which type did you fit ??.

I am contemplating these as the seem good value for money.

Yes, that's what I have and I'm very pleased with them. They're quiet and good in the wet but I've not had them long enough to know how they'll wear

Fitted a set of the Vredensteins and must say I am suitably impressed ....
Done about 2000 km on them so far .....

Grip well in the dry and very quiet .... much quieter than the Toyos I had.
We've had no rain for weeks so haven't been able to assess the wet road capabilities ....
