Is the D3 setup a viable option?
Just wondering... (rears too?)

A quick bit of research shows that the 2004 and 2007 models have a greater range of options from 323mm disk with single pot sliding callipers; via 360mm disks with twin pot sliding callipers up to a mahosive 385mm with twin pot sliding callipers.
8 pot callipers don't seem to appear until you get onto the 380mm ceramic disks. Rears start at 280mm with single pot sliding callipers and work up through 310mm, 335mm to the 356mm ceramic. The one thing to note with the D3s is that they have an electromechanical parking brake. The hub carriers are fundamentally the same design as the D2 so there may well be some transplant options.

Also watch out for D3 brakes as the Adaptive Cruise uses different calipers too I think (due to the automated activation of the brakes).

Hi there.
A quick translation of this: 1 Set of Audi RS6 Brake calipers incl. assembly material. It's original NEW Audi-parts. These calipers are in the Audi RS6 using 365mmx34mm discs. We can also submit adapters for using the 385mmx36mm discs on these calipers. These calipers can be used at almost every car, assuming the right adapters. It's about the 8 pot calipers. We also offer a full reconstruction kit for Audi RS4, A8, S4 and others (watch the shop). The parts certainly can be assembled to your car in our garage. Shipping within GE is 10 €, to other countries we are looking for a cheap shipping to you. Request by indicating your adress. Further information call: 00499931/6066 or mobile: 00491754641206 or mail adress audi@urquattro.net. ---------------- Now playing: Jennifer Rostock - Gedanken, die man besser nicht denkt via FoxyTunes ---------------- Now playing: Jennifer Rostock - Tier in dir via FoxyTunes

Guys, if you need any information from the first translation (given telephone-number), I can call there and ask about everything!!! It's really no problem.
Just give me a description of your queries and I'll talk to that company there. Greetz, Chris. ---------------- Now playing: Manowar - Thunderpick via FoxyTunes

Chris,
Thanks for the translations, I think I'll be going for the set at Urquattro as I'll also need the mounting brackets. Could you give them a call and ask for a price for the calipers and mounting brackets for a 2000 S8 (already has 4 pot brembos). Also which payments they accept as I a bit concerned that they don't accept Paypal. If you need anymore info let me know and thanks again. Steve |

Hi.
So I had a friendly call to the Urquattro-guy. There are several possibilities to get your A8/S8 negative accelerated This is exclusively for the front wheels. You can only go on 18"-Wheels or bigger. In all offers are included: -2 front brake discs -brake pads -2 brake calipers -metal hose kit -adapters to mount the caliper At first there's the 365mm-disc (two section, alloy & steel, VW Phaeton disc) Without any holes in the disc the set costs 1790 €. With slotted discs it's at 1900 €. With punched discs the set is at 2100 €. With the cheaper 385mm-disc (one piece, full steel) in punched design the set is at ~1750 € Further there's the option to install the 390mm-discs from the new 4F-RS6 (seller recommends that option ) With the punched discs the set costs 2150 €. Payment could go by Paypal, but he doesn't want paypal to earn about 40€ for one transaction. An other solution could be found in case of purchasing. Shipping to the UK will take 52€ for the whole kit. Mind the possibility to get a set carried by a visitor of the german A8-Freunde-meeting in August. So far, hope I could help you.
