Default What can they take? 4.2 TDI

Got the 6 speed tiptronic on my 4.2 TDI.

What power can these boxes take? Want to get a remap soon and don't want too overload the box or something.

Not sure what they're rated for, but mine has been remapped for about 6 months and seems quite happy.

It's not power you need to worry about, it's torque.

Not sure on the exact figures, but it's the Shark stage 1 map, so around 380hp, possibly more as it had a DPF removal at the same time.

Depending on where you are, I'd recommend Shark Performance. Their local guy did mine up here (BroTek) and can't fault the map so far.

Takes it from 326 to 370+ HP and 650 to 750 Nm of torque.

Funnily enough i was thinking shark. Seen how they took a V50 D5 from 150 to 260 and a shed load of torque on the volvo forum (forgive me for i have sinned - with 4 previous 940's LOL)

They explained the map and all and i was intruiged...

I went with Viezu remap and I'm very happy, but can't say which one is better.
And I'm not an expert when comes to remaping

Fuel Type: Diesel
ECU Fitted: BOSCH EDC16CP34 V8 M&S

Engine Tune:
Perf. Tune: +50bhp & 120Nm
Eco. Tune: +30bhp & 60Nm
Fuel Saving (Eco Tune): 15%

You can go to portfolio and then click on Audi, you will see all Audi's John did so far. You can't obviously tell for sure what is the final result until you go to guys like AMD to see what your car really achieves after remap

The box will take 1200nm providing you have the TCU remapped aswell so that it dose not provide maximum torque In 1st to 3rd gear and when in fourth you will have full torque.

I have a friend SWB 4.2 tdi its 418bhp with around 900nm of torque I think it was big fish tuning re mapped it...

I hate to say it .... but it was far faster than the W12 .......
