Default Auto opening boot?

Hi
I’ve been talking to Dave (Forum owner/sponsor) on the phone today. I mentioned to him, I was trying to retro fit springs to my boot. So it will open all the way. He mentioned to me, some of the D2 Owners are trying to do the same thing and may be interested.
I currently own a Audi A4 B7 saloon and would love to get the boot lid to open fully. I searched most of the Audi forums for How too’s. Nobody seems to have a clear cut way of doing it. So it led me to search other avenues.
I previously owned a Rover 75 and can remember a guy (Steve) on their managing to retro fit the spring to open the boot fully. Please find links below. I’ve spoken to Steve and we are working together to try and get this mod off the ground. If were successful. Then it should work for the D2
I will keep you up to date on our finding
If links don't work, search you-tube for Rover 75 Auto Boot Lift How To Part 1, 2, 3.

Part 2

Part 3

My thinking is. If they can do it, then so can we
Please ignore what I have written, if the mod as already been done
Regards
Alan

Default Yeah I've been looking at doing this too

I believe it was either the A4 or some vw, Audi actually sell a small spring (nothing like the size in the video clips and it clips onto the hinge iirc they was also a plastic cover piece as well, but It might have also involved changing the hinge if it didn;t have the nipples in where the spring goes to.... I still have the info somewhere.

But Rover Idea looks good... but I think I need a pair of new gas struts first anyways.

And I was thinking about a motor like the D3 but seems a lot of work
