Look, face it. Your /we are not normal. If we were we would all have cars available thru' finance at around £250/£300 a month, not give a monkeys about the state it was in dues to dogs/children etc and trade it in at a huge loss every 18 months with the wheels kerbed. At least that seems a normal way of life with some people i know. They just put it down to the costs of "owning" a car.

Well said David and so true
I'm kind of feed up with amount of new mercs in London, its enough you have any type of business such as Pencil Sharpening and you can take a new merc on a business. Well, you can take most of the cars on the same principle, but for some reason Mercs are either the cheapest or most popular for show off.

I've had few people like that over the years where I knew whats the story behind before they opened the mouth. It usually starts with something ''Look at MY new wheels/car/ride, when are you going to have one of them?!''

Well, this conversation does not finish nice same as it did not start this way.
Usually the first thing I say is: ''Hold on, lets make one thing clear, what you showing me off is a car own either by a bank or Merc group, so don't talk to me like suddenly you are better than me only because you are stupid enough to get in to this scheme which costs you stupid money for what you get and you lose on the end another significant amount, which is still smaller than my cost of running this PROPER car about which I care and I am absolutely an@l about''
Then we go through stuff like What you see here is mine, owned by me, paid in full for my money and I'm the King of this Castle On Wheels

It amazes me how quickly that cocky attitude fades away

It's not my business what people do with money, how they spend it or what they get into, just don't be a D**k about it.
YES, I am NOT NORMAL which is against what I said few days ago
And I love my car, and I care about it and will continue replacing bits on it before they need replacing because its who I am and thats why this car serves me so well, maintenance, maintenance, maintenance, genuine parts and love again.

Doesn't sound strange at all! I am currently looking at houses on Skye and my priority is (as with my current abode) an area of ground big enough to build a garage for all my cars! My wife is talking about 'kitchens' and stuff like that?!

The next thing is to have, or build a 'granny flat' for the chap who details my cars to stay in when he is up doing his magic! My wife has given up on me!
