I paid a premium for my s8....

Reason was it is well-specced....in pristine condition..... well maintained.....
and it was owned by 2 Club Members for 8 yrs of it's life.... (that adds value to a vehicle IMO)

I f this vehicle was in SA it would be in my Garage now....

The price is well within the bracket for a vehicle of this Quality....

The sad part is that only an enthusiast would pay the asking price ....
And us enthusiasts are few and far between.....

Good luck with the Sale and I hope an enthusiaist sees the value and
maintains the present pristine condition....

I paid £8,500 for Ian's D2, and that was cheap as it needed some work, so I more or less paid £9,500. That was in 2010. Book value on the A8 back then was £2,500. But I didn't give a toss, and I would buy this if after a D2 too.
It happens all the time, someone on the RS6 forum buys a cheap one for £10k, realises it needs thousands spending and it would have just been cheaper buying a forum owned £12-15k example from the start, they realise they can't afford it then sell it for £8k, it makes the genuine RS6 models look expensive, but the more expensive examples are the ones to go for and DO sell for a premuim.

Thumbs up

I sold my last car (a pristine 97 Saab 9000 Aero) on Pistonheads 5years ago, and couldn't believe the debate I created on a well known Saab forum because I priced at the top of the market at the time. The guy who bought it had been looking for 2years for the "right" one and bit my arm off at the asking price. He was gobsmacked at the condition of the car.

People WILL pay good money for the right car.

Good luck with the sale.

PS. I'll have that milltek and spacers off you...

All interesting stuff.

My initial reaction to a 7K price was a sharp intake of breath, given D3's are regularly hitting sub 6K, how could one expect to make £1000+ more on a lowly D2.

But.

God, it looks good. Its a stunning exterior colour, and the black interior looks pristine and will wear well for years, along with a low mileage which is reflected in the the overall look of the car - and adds real tangible value over other rivals for sale.

Its not a particularly high spec, but its high enough for most, and aside from a couple of minor tweaks its very original, and desirable to a collector of such fine Audi hardware.

It wont sell overnight as the target audience is very small indeed for something so pristine, but providing there is no desperate rush to sell (which there doesnt seem to be) then when avid buyer meets TLC-giving seller, I think the car may well sell itself.....

I mean, just ask yourself, when did you last see a well presented genuine S8 with sub 60K on the clock for sale in a desirable colour.....

Best of luck with it....

Wasn't UKSaabs was it?

As for the S8 in question - I can see why a sorted car could easily be worth that sort of money. My D2 FL A8 is probably worth around £2000 if that (even with the private plate), but to get it up to the standards of that S8, you'd need to spend significantly more than its current value - and it still wouldn't be an S8.

Good luck with the sale.

Good ol' Pistonheads

Generated some serious interest - people asking the right questions, and it seems genuinely interested.

Got 1st viewing Monday
