Change 0 to 1 and save.
Green menu is then active instantly

For that I went into Poole Audi to ask them as my car had just come out of its 3 year free subscription period. The service guy said no one had ever come in and asked for it to be extended so he needed to talk to the MMI specialist and get back to me. He said they called Audi in Germany and they are happy to activate live traffic for free on all cars where initial subscriptions have ran out on new cars, purely because as of January 2018 Audi still hadnít through the process of how much to charge for this... so essentially itís free right now.

They told me to wait for 48 hours and it will automatically be uploaded to my MMI via Audi connect. You need to sign it to Audi connect. Youíll then see the traffic map option works as it should.

In summary, if anyone wants this, get down to your Audi dealer asap because they may change their mind and charge for this feature in future.

Good luck.

You don't even have to pay a visit to the dealer...a quick call to A8 Customer Services on 0800 699888 will do the trick.

Just ask them if they can activate Online Traffic Services and it will be switched on in @24 hours.

You will then see the Online symbol on the lower left of the MMI screen and Audi CS will confirm via email also.

I done this on my 2011 @6 months ago and on my 2014 earlier this week.

Free 12 months Traffic Service seems a good thing for me despite me preferring to use Google Earth!

Something I mentioned briefly in another thread was activating the Lap Timer in the D4.

Now I tried this exercise in my pre-facelift 2011 4.2TDi some months ago and was just left with a dummy entry for Lap Timer in the menu scroll but when you pressed the OK button nothing would happen. The Lap Timer entry just stayed static in the list.

Tried this in my facelift 2014 TDi and it works as expected!

Selecting Lap Timer in the menu scroll list and pressing OK now opens up the Lap Timer properly and displays Oil Temp, Boost and all the Timer functions such as Lap, Split, Pause, Statistics, Reset etc.

As an update for anyone looking in the future, contacting via the 0800 number Glyn shared....eventually it appears I have got Audi to recognise my 2010 D4 exists and is eligible so they have forwarded the request to Germany to reactivate online traffic. It seems that depending who I spoke to they either could or couldn't find my car on its old or current Reg No (and we're or weren't interested in the VIN number) and would or wouldn't accept my vehicle was eligible/able to be activated. Anyway I'll wait and see if today's agreement comes to fruition. Interestingly Audi's stated lead in time has risen from approx 24 hours to up to 8-9 working days since my renewed enquiry at the beginning of the week.
