Snapdragon, how do you power yours?
It uses a mini-USB or similar so I use a USB cigar charger and lead from the boot cigar socket and the usb lead goes behind the left media rack cover/trim to the gateway - until I get a project box and make something more permanent. I leave it on 27/7 and battery was fine at the airport after a week away - presumable the cigar sockets power off if battery gets low.

Witch of these Gateway's would be the best to go with in that case?

I think so but yours is later model. With MMI2g, we also have to click a small 5 pins of additional phono loom into an existing red connector on the TV.
These are about £14 - what does your have?

The BT gateway I have is the square chrome one with black top with grey logo.

IIR it didn't come with USB power lead but one off either a Raspberry Pi or SAMSUNG Galaxy fitted. Sorry I can't remember which is which with these small D-shaped USB plugs. micro-mini etc...

I have exactly the same, but I'd like to put it behind a relay. Just need to figure out where to connect the relay... plenty of options on the media rack I guess.

This is what I have http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bluetooth-...item27ebc136a7

I was just thinking -
If you have the bluetooth phone paired to the MMI, will it stop it streaming to the stereo gateway?
I will have to try as I only got my bluetooth phone prep installed today.

Yes... One or the other.

Pretty sure my last few androids have been happy with phone audio to one device and media audio to another at the same time.

I searched google, and yes, it seems to be quite a common question and the general answer is it will work with both on recent years' iPhone and Android.

Hmm ok, then i think i will order the simple one that just connects to the AMI port in the glove compartment. I don't own or never gonna own a apple product, so being able to connect "my" iPod right thru the AMI won't be a problem

Just brainstorming now, but IF it was an bluetooth interface with A2DP for the D3 it would only have to be coded up with the MMI to work. Shouldn't be needed to change the whole d@mn audio system to make it work? Something like this:
