I use COMFORT as the default.
Rarely use AUTOMATIC.
If I see a corner coming up and don't want to slow down I tell the missus to dial in DYNAMIC and sometimes use it on the rare occasion twisty roads and it is good.

I need COMFORT on my daily drives due to too many speed humps.

Automatic with occasional Dynamic. Try 'S' in the gearbox, this has an even more noticeable effect

tried it in dynamic mode yesterday. on my way back from work on country lanes.
a totally different car.
it hunkers down and the 4.2 gulps the miles up.
i loved my D2 to bits.
but the D3 is a step up.

But did you try it after pulling that middle "T" shaped stick back?
I've been down to Chepstow today without SWMBO so used the M50 to Ross and went via Monmouth. Turned left at Monmouth and ran down the Wye Valley, pulled that stick thingy back to the "S" position, dropped into "Dynamic", shoved hard with my right boot and scared the living shonet out of me. Tintern Abbey flashed past in no time at all.

I love that valley drive Ray. Do it quite often. It's a good driving road.

We drove the very same valley a few years ago on the annual meet which was held in the Forest of Dean that year - lovely drive!

I was stationed at Beachley, which is under the Wye/Severn M48 Bridge for three years from 15 years old. It was an Army Technical College, now 3rd Rifles. That is where I was on Tuesday for a few hours. We are there every September for our Annual Reunion. I have to go down three or four times a year for committee meetings as well as odd work runs to Bristol Airport when we are short of drivers. When stationed there we used to ride our push bikes up and down the Wye Valley and camp overnight in the Ciderford area. So different then, sort of a mini Rhine Valley.
Still have some miles to cover this Easter weekend,
  1. Sunday Family Gathering in Southport
  2. Retired coach driver's funeral in Bo'ness/Falkirk
  3. Military funeral in Salisbury (I'm carrying a Standard there)
I did have a bus job to Swindon on Good Friday but the numbers have been reduced so the owner is doing it in a 16 seater and I'm having a rest.

My GF lives in Chepstow, I'm Peterborough. I used to go M5 all the way in the early days and then I learnt about the M50. It's quite a few miles shorter and even if you get stuck behind something slow on the last stretch it works out almost the same and avoids bridge tolls!

It's also a really pretty drive and tintern at night is lovely too. You don't need speed bumps to make people go slow, just really pretty things worth taking the time to look at
