I was having a look at prices and these are some options (both return):

Ramsgate - Ostend = £56

Dover - Calais = £80

I reckon we should take Ramsgate to Ostend as although the ferry journey will be three hours longer this is the difference in distance to Erdersee from Ostend vs Calais:

319 mi = Ostend - Edersee
373 mi = Calais - Edersee

IIRC Ramsgate is a little nearer then Dover to, for me at least. Watchya reckon?

Default FAO: Tony

Tony, can you let us know what is going on with the Ferry please? I wanted to pay for the hotel now, but Chris said we have to pay when we get there so I want to book/pay for the Ferry soon as to 'set in stone' I am coming, because I can see myself getting sidetracked and not coming if something else crops up or someone asks me to go somewhere else. At least this way I will be 'committed' and can say I've already booked something, so can we please book soon please? Would we really get a big discount for 4/5 8s from P&O and £50 is cheap enough anyway... Please reply soon.

Also, would be interested to know who's bringing their cars for the convoy?

Hi Amar,

Sorry for the delay in replying.

I'm waiting for P&O to get back to me. I know that we are looking to have a number of cars going over, and they are perhaps a little reluctant to commit to a discount, unless we can give them numbers.

For the trip from Calais, it's not too bad, it's those of us travelling from Hull who are likely to benefit most from any discount (currently the price appears to be £400, a £90 increase over last year) So maybe you should book anyway?

I'll chase P&O tomorrow, and see if I get a speedier response.

Ahh, I see. I didn't realise some were sailing out of Hull. So I'm assuming that Darren/Tony will be going out of Hull and possibly Mike as well seeing as he will be in Scotland. So, does this mean that me and Ben should book together and meet you guys somewhere in France for the convoy down?
