Default Air suspension crossing fingers!

So... Bagpipe Andy's miracle kit fitted and I have lift back! Fault codes revealed 1577 Shut off due to overheating
1772 implausible signal wire for pressure sender
1400 lower limit not achieved

All classed as Sporadic....

Functions up and down are much quicker so clearly psi is back up. For the price of 2 hours labour and the kit, it would be lovely if all is now well. The old piston ring did not seem that worn but was scored underneath.

Good isn't it, much cheaper than a new compressor.

Absolutely! Just hoping there's not a further electrical glitch in there... Time will tell. Fault codes cleared and a short run didn't bring them back so we'll see. All ok with yours?

Sure... Kit is a replacement piston ring and seal for the compressor. It restores pressure and is a cheap, worthwhile and very efficient fix assuming the compressor motor itself is still ok.

This bagpipe Andy guy is on eBay and is an engineer who makes the parts. Does a similar repair for high end Mercs, the Jag XJ and Discovery etc.
Go to eBay and search Air suspension repair and he'll appear!

My compressor was working overtime and took a long time to raise and lower etc. Now it is much better. I'm just hoping I haven't got a problem on the wiring block itself. Time will tell.

I love these cars but when they get older there is always a sense of... I wonder what will go bang next!

So after a day or two of driving with the refurbed compressor, I'm impressed! The rear seems higher and in line with the front now. It may be placebo, but I'm sure the ride is a little firmer and less wallowy which is a good thing.

The guy that made this kit up deserves a real accolade for his talent and ability to save all air ride drivers a packet.

On the motorway tomorrow, so will see how she fares in Automatic. Previously very reluctant to hoist back up to comfort or slow to do so after having been in Dynamic for a while.

Yes mate, already few happy customers in here, I'll be buying one soon as well, but will do the output tests before to.see how much I lost over the years.

...plus, I think/hope this will solve my problem with not being able to lower suspension via VCDS to -25mm
