Intermittent Beeping

Hi all,

This is my first post on the forum. I've owned my D3 for a couple of months without any issues but while driving today (after quite a heavy rainfall) I noticed that I could hear an intermittent beeping from somewhere in the car. It lasted between 5-10 seconds each time and eventually seemed to stop completely.

After parking up and locking the car, the beeping started again and it appeared to be coming from the engine bay just below the windscreen cowl. It has now stopped, but has anyone experienced something similar?

I'm assuming it's probably alarm related.

I think it could be the alarm horn backup batteries have blown.
I think the horn is called H12.
It is tucked behind the passenger side wing under the pastic cowel under the windscreen but is easy enough to access once the plastic has been removed..

Thanks, I'll take a look and see if I can replace the batteries (although it has been eerily quiet today!)
