I don't get the problem here. Audi collect and return the car, or provide a loaner for free. Or is this just the dealers in the W Midlands?
I can't understand why you would pay for someone failing to fix what they were supposed to fix. I mean, where's the incentive for them to actually do that job if they can just **** about and then suggest, what is in effect wrecking your car to get bonnet open, once they are bored with messing around, or have another, more profitable, call to make.
The hit to fix it will almost certainly be less than the hit you'll take on your cars resale value with it unfixed.
I can understand your disillusionment, you've been taken advantage of. But have faith, not all dealers/mechanics are crooks. Ask around and take your car to whoever is trusted by the people you know.
Perhaps a little online research will point you to the solution.
Good luck with it and, far more important, good luck with the health issues.

1st registered in the UK 22/04/2008, is a Sport, but you can see from the rear plate holder its came from Germany and is an import (i know as done this before) so does this mean ts a PFL and rolled off the production line Pre Oct 07 which i believe is the change over date, however the lipped rear lid according to earlier posts was only fitted to FL cars, so still somewhat unclear..

And on further investigation a CAT D claim was made against this car (the VIN which i have) 28/09/2012 which would explain the out of sync parts - ie the body-shop ordered the wrong ones for either front or rear.

I suppose you were unaware of this OP ..

And in considering the s line badge on the front and broken cable, my guess is it had some front end work inc new bumper panel lights etc, which were pre lift and not as per original build. Would also help explain cable as prob not correctly adjusted after new front panel installed.

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the issues with replying I've had a pretty rough few days and am typing this from bed now! The thought of a fix would be awesome. but alas I've lost all faith in Main dealer Audi Altogether.

Hi.

The car is a registered August 2008, and the from what I can tell everything from the windscreen wipers back are perfect as should be, even the exhaust appears to be an Audi option for the car at the time of ordering.

I bought the car with light front damage and was sold at a reasonable price as the bumper had been replaced, but it would appear that they headlamps have been changed also as these are not the ones fitted to the car, this should of had the LED headlights as seen fitted to the Audi S8, and although it would be nice to get these back in, at the price of £375 each that I have been quoted plus the recoding back to the correct headlamps... it's a cost that as yet was not vital as I've have headlamps that work with the car. I have put this down to the person who did the repair work not aware when asking for a second hand pair of headlights that there were five different sets for the 2008 year.

Its a desirable colour combo, and engine, but I suspect its got little or nothing in terms of optional equipment...

Could be a bargain for someone, but some interior shots would certainly clean up a lot of questions....
I have some interior shots here, I will post them up shortly... It has the black leather inside and the wood trim inserts. The Colour is the Phantom Black pearl effect from what Audi have told me.

Regards

Mark

Model: MY 2008 08 3.0TDI Quattro Sport, Black on Black (Transporter Edition) Lowered 60mm on drop link bars. Alloys swapped out to RS6 style 20" x 9.5". It's got full tints on all windows, and has the black leather interior. Remapped by Elite Automotive in Cornwall, giving an increase output to 290bhp/450lbs.

Options: Keyless Entry & Start, Bluetooth Hands Free, Quad Zone Climate, 3 Spoke Sports Tiptronic Multi Function Steering Wheel, Black Leather Comfort Seats, AMI, Drivers & Passenger Electric Memory Seats, Auto Dimming Mirrors, Bi-Xenons.

Future Plans:
Selling my current Audi A8 Quattro Sport and replace is with a newer D4 Audi A8L with the 4.2V8 Twin Turbo setup once again it must be black. I'm looking for one with the options added where it has the rear recliing seats, with heated outers. Bose speakers minimum and B&O's if affordable. Rear and back door sun blinds prefered.

Planned Mods:
Upon the arrival of my A8L D4, I will be once again having the ECU remapped to a performance setting over economy. Rear Tints as dark as can go whilst also tinting the front windows with a medium tint. Once again I will be purchasing lowering links for the air ride suspension and setting it at 55mm lower when in comfort as my desire rideheight over standard. Alloys will be 21" however the one current most likly to be the next car already has a brand new set of 2016 S8Plus wheels on it.

It is most likely a genuine sport as it has the correct bootlid.
Exhaust/Exhaust trims look aftermarket.
The alloys are most likely 19" oem as fitted to a lot of 2009 onward D3's.
I agree it is nice colour combo and should be easy to sell given the small mileage.
It might be wise for the vendor to get the bonnet opening sorted with a more capable garage prior to sale. I doubt anyone will make a decent offer on it without being able to have a look at the engine bay.
Best of luck with the sale.
Yes it's a definite genuine Quattro sport, the Log book says all of that! and the wheels also were fitted standard on this car, (possibly as an option at cost) but I do have the order codes for the car, as given to me by Audi. I can post those up for anyone wishing to check the spec! Yes Air suspension is in the car and works amazingly well, one of things I use a lot and don't know I could live without.

These boot lids was only fitted to FL SPORT models and S8's

These alloys were from late 2007 SPORT FL models ONLY
Yes Roberto as you have quite clearly said. for it's year and make and model the boot lid and rear lights are correct, these are the original parts for the car. The S-line badge, well I've never heard of one but on the same token I've never taken the badge off either... There is one saved in my eBay list saying Quattro as similar to the one badged up at the back, but I was going to add this at the same time of doing the other bits on the front.

I did wonder about the round fog lights! I have to admit that I do prefer them to the square lights that this one should have and if given the option of either I would still pick the round option over the ones that came with the car.

Mileage on the car is at about 77,000 of which the last 6,000 of those are mine, and the car is smooth, drives extremely well and for such a heavy car I do love the way it pulls so well for a 3.0 tdi engine in 3rd and 4th gear.

Regards,

Mark.
