Default Tried a new wax ...Some pictures

Evening Guys hope you don’t mind me sharing some pictures. I am just well chuffed with my efforts
I spent this morning giving the 8 a good clean as I had picked up a couple of goodies to try on her.
First off I had ran out of my usual wax R222 which whilst gives a cracking finish doesn’t seem that durable, I was going to get some Collinite as I had heard good things about that. But just before I ordered I started looking at chemical guys Pete’s 53 and ended up with that ! Mainly as they reckon its perfect for darker paints and metallics. Then I ordered some Gtechniq Leather guard as I find my leather belt rubs the back of the seat and was leaving a mark. It cleans off but I thought I would try this stuff as I had my seats marked by jeans in a Merc with cream leather I had a few years ago. So I thought better safe than sorry and for only £6 it seemed a bargain. I have used their trim restorer on wifey’s motor as the plastics get stained and look rough after a while. Their restorer is the only stuff I have found to protect it for a decent period.

Anyway I decided to give it a very quick machine polish first with just Black Max from Britemax. I have found this stuff the best for shifting the last of the swirls and haze on dark colours. It doesn’t fill them it shifts them and it is just so easy to use as a final polish/glaze before waxing. Didn’t take long as I keep her in good condition with regular washing and waxing.

Anyway then I applied some of the new wax, all I can say wow what a finish. Very easy to apply and just as easy to buff off. It gives superb gloss but also brings out the flake stunning

I cleaned the leather with some autoglym leather cleaner then applied the Leather protector, easy enough I’ll let you know how that go’s over time.

Here’s some pictures I took, well pleased
Cheers Glyn

Great job Glynn, the car looks awesome!
I'm a great fan of both Chemical Guys stuff and also poorboys Stuff - found them both to be great products at not overly silly prices

I went looking for this as your results are great - should it be Pete's 53, not 63?

Poorboys is excellent stuff, I only now ever use their super slick shampoo, it lasts really well, smells great and is reasonably priced

Thanks for the comments chaps
I have to say it absolutely threw it down here the other day and I have been out and about on the motorways and she still looks the business. Although I parked at a hotel by the nec today and when I got back to her she was covered in a nice layer of sh**e from the local building site.
Quick blast back down the motorway and it luckily all blew off .....back to a shiney car
It does seem to make the car look more black, it is emerald black so you just notice the green from certain angles I guess
I do love my 8. As I said to someone yesterday ideally I would have a v10 in it but it keeps knocking out well over 40mpg too what a motor
Cheers glyn
