Cool A8 Wedding Car

Hi All,

I marry my long-suffering SWIMBO next Friday; 21.7.2917. It has been a long and wonderful journey for us, passionate and expensive.... Taking all our time and effort: remind you of anything??

Anyhow; I have invited my Brother to drive my cherished A8, he usually drives BMW 7 series (up ramps onto car transporters, 1 cm clearance each side!!) and a Fiat Punto to the garage. I'm not worried. eople

Any tips on putting daft ribbons on an A8 or lending your A8 to Family??

Rob "Freebird"

Last time I did that I just bought some classy ivory ribbons and a bow online.
Still got them as it happens.

All the best to you and your bride to be.

I'm actually chauffeuring my brother in law and his wife-to-be on their wedding day in my 8. This is after I've scratched my bonnet twice (this year), kerbed my alloys in a narrow street near Perpignan (last year, diamond cut, no cheap refurb for me) AND someone scratched my front bumper down to the plastic a month ago.

I don't how I'm going to tart the old girl up on the day (the car, not his fiancée), especially after we get back from our own Tour de France this summer with two kids in the back.

Surely if anyone can help with such matters, it's Ray... I'm guessing Ray has 'had a few brides on his backseat'.

Come on Ray, How many miles of ribbon and bows will I need to hide all the 8's imperfections?

For bows and ribbon ebay is your friend, something like this?

Tie them on, cut them off

Here we go again, with apologies. I have never used our 8 as a wedding car.
Company cars are another matter and I used to keep a stock of ribbons in various colours, gave the bride a choice when booking the vehicle. Tended to use plastic ties and DIY bows then cut them off and throw away afterwards.
I also used to have bouquets of plastic flowers for the rear shelf.

I actually preferred seeing them "on the backseat" before the wedding day.
But of course there are a lot of stories that are not for public viewing
The attached were just ordinary girls on a night out, nothing to do with the pole dancers that I used to ferry to and from Blackpool!!
All I have now are memories and a few photos. I don't even have any of the pole dancer calendars left

No names, no pack drill.

See this thread:
http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthrea...hlight=wedding for some hints.
The recommendation is that the ribbons are secured onto the sunvisor bracket inside the car rather than the mirror which means that the ribbon doesnt flop when the doors are opened and also stops the ribbon sanding the bonnet with road dirt. 50mm white ribbon and "pull bows" are easily obtained off the net - I used Easy Florist Supplies (which is a comment I think on the ease of getting the stuff as opposed to the moral inclinition of the aforementioned florist).

Oh, and congratulations - hope the day goes well.
